Southern Utah Engineering Experts, Inc. has recently expanded its capacity.
In addition to its current mechanical, electrical, and software engineering capacities, the firm now offers design and structural services for energy efficient and environmentally sound, commonly called “green,” commercial and residential structures.
Moshier has brought on seasoned professionals including Tyler Smithson, P.E., LEED AP, CA “A” Contractor, with experience in design and civil/structural consulting on scores of green building projects around the country.
Smithson earned a master’s degree in structures from Brigham Young University, then started his career with a structural engineering firm in Provo where he worked on various projects in southern Utah, including LDS chapels and the structural engineering of the Kenneth N Gardner Student Center at Dixie State College.
He started Smithson Engineering in 1996 in southern California and has delivered projects ranging from rollercoaster refurbishments to high-density green dwelling projects on the Rose Parade route in Pasadena, to complicated 10,000-square-foot custom homes on ski slopes.
SUEE has recently delivered work on a potential Scout facility in Dove Creek and is currently developing two projects in the Fort Pierce area of St. George. One is a 16,000 square foot green commercial mixed use facility, and the other is a 12,000 square foot green custom residential project.
As SUEE expands, it is developing the capacity to offer services to other local developers as well.
